Harrisburg Annual Holiday Parade

VVA 542 in conjunction with Harrisburg Mayor Stephen R. Reed will host the new division in this years Holiday parade. The Mayor in order to honor both current members of the military and veterans has added the Active Duty/Veterans division. VVA 542 will be in charge of coordinating all units within this division which will lead off this years parade.

The current plans are to start the parade with a three ship fly over of down town Harrisburg by UH 60 BlackHawk helicopters. There will be units from both active and veterans organizations. A tent will be set up in down town Harrisburg where people will be able to sign Christmas post cards that will be collected by VVA 542 and then forwarded to Pennsylvania National Guard units serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
